From 3 to 6 November 2025, Rome will host the IX edition of the World Congress of Metaphysics, an emblematic event that celebrates its 25th anniversary since its foundation in 2000. Under the title “Science and experience open to the absolute”, this congress becomes a unique platform to reflect and dialogue on the foundations of the human being and its relationship with experimental and experiential sciences.

The congress is framed in the context of the Jubilee Year, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive vision of the human being. The topics addressed promise to impact areas such as pedagogy, ethics, law, ecology, psychology and other human disciplines, fostering an enriching interaction between scientific progress and metaphysical perspectives.

Main Topics

The event will revolve around four main thematic axes:

1. The consequences of scientific and technological progress.
2. Metaphysics, mysticism and epistemology in the human sciences.
3. Person and relationship: current horizons and challenges.
4. The figure and thought of Fernando Rielo.

Participation and Submission of Proposals

Academicians, researchers and interested professionals are invited to participate by sending an extended abstract of 400–500 words that includes title, context, objectives, methodology, preliminary conclusions and five keywords. Proposals can be submitted in Spanish, English, French or Italian, and must clearly indicate the corresponding thematic area.

Selected participants will have the opportunity to be part of the official conference program and the proceedings that will be published later. The deadline for submitting abstracts is September 15, 2025. In addition, a brief academic biography of 100–150 words per author is required.

Event Details

The congress will take place at the prestigious Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, located in Via degli Aldobrandeschi, 190, Rome, Italy. Registration will be open until October 20, 2025, while the final work for the proceedings must be submitted by January 31, 2026.
