The Church in Mexico calls to promote the culture of life in the Jubilee of Hope 2025

The Mexican Episcopal Conference (CEM) has issued a message within the framework of the “Week for Life 2025” emphasizing the importance of promoting the family and education in values. The bishops emphasize that, in the face of the culture of death and waste, it is essential to commit to the culture of life and human dignity.

In its statement, the CEM urges to open the conscience to the light of truth to be messengers of hope and life. They underline the need to accompany those who suffer and work together for a reconciled Mexico. In addition, they highlight the importance of the family as the fundamental nucleus of society and education in values as pillars to build a more just and supportive nation.

This call is framed in the context of the Jubilee of Hope 2025, a Holy Year that the Church dedicates to reflect on the Christian virtue of hope. Pope Francis has pointed out that this Jubilee is an opportune occasion to reestablish a climate of hope and trust, especially in times marked by conflicts and global challenges.

The Mexican bishops invite society to actively participate in the activities of the Week for Life, promoting initiatives that strengthen unity, co-responsibility, and the common good. They make a special call to the faithful to intensify their dialogue with God, as Pope Francis has requested, affirming that “prayer is the breath of faith.”

In conclusion, the CEM reaffirms its commitment to accompany families and all sectors of society in building a culture that values and defends life in all its stages, from conception to natural death. They invite everyone to be protagonists of this change, being witnesses of hope in the midst of current difficulties.
