This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Francis received in audience H.E. Mr. Philippe Orengo, Ambassador of the Principality of Monaco to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his Letters of Credence.

Born in Monaco on 13th November 1953.
He is married.
He graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris (1977) and holds a DEA in
Political Science at the IEP in Paris (1979). Diploma in German Language, Goethe Institut, Boppardam Rhein (1974).

He has held the following positions
– at the Administration of the City of Paris (1980 – 1988): Mission chargé at the Cabinet of the Mayor; Mission chargé at the Cabinet Director of the Mayor, Maître de Conférences at the Ecole d’Administration; Cabinet Director, Directorate
General of International Relations; Technical Adviser at the Cabinet of the Mayor.
– at the Prefectoral Administration, Ministry of the Interior (1988 – 1997): Sub-Prefect, Director of the Cabinet of the Prefect of Lot; Sub-Prefect, Director of the Cabinet of the Prefect of Sarthe; Sub-Prefect of the arrondissement de Dole (Jura).
– at the French Administrative Justice: Adviser to the Corps of Members of the Administrative Tribunals and Administrative Courts of Appeal; First Adviser, Government Commissioner; President of the Corps of Members of the Administrative Tribunals and Administrative Courts of Appeal, Vice-President of the Administrative Tribunal of Nice; Counsellor of State, Council of State of the Principality of Monaco (1988 – 2022); Honorary Consul General of Denmark (2013 – 2022).
