Live for eternity

Our mission today is to offer the opportunity to find salvation at the last moment and by the grace of God to people who are about to die, because God’s mercy is always waiting for us

The concept of eternity in Heaven is a fundamental part of Christian belief. According to the Christian perspective, Heaven is a place where the souls of the righteous rest in peace and enjoy the presence of God for all eternity. This belief is based on the idea that God is infinite and eternal and that his love and mercy are inexhaustible.

Eternity is a difficult concept for the human mind to understand. However, for Christians, eternity is not simply an infinite line of timeline, but a state of being in which time no longer has any importance.

As human beings, God only offers us two options, eternal life and eternal damnation. This destiny is determined by a single crucial decision: to escape the corruption of this world. For this, our God offers us a means of escape, which is through his Son Jesus, who can forgive all our sins. The Lord desires that we all choose His generous offer by making Jesus the Lord of our lives, and thus escape an eternity of painful damnation.

The custom of praying for the dying has been common until our grandparents’ generation, but the fear of facing death as a part of life and the Christianization of our society have caused this work of charity to fall into oblivion.

When you hide from a sick person that death is near, a rarefied atmosphere is created that does not help them die in peace. “The problem is that death is faced as a failure, when in reality it is a natural process that for believers is the beginning of an exciting life. To die well, you have to look death in the eyes.”

But what are we talking about when we refer to “dying well”? At the moment of death we must make a “discernment of spirits, the spirit of evil is going to lead me to sadness, while the spirit of Jesus is going to lead me to joy, repentance and peace. The ideal is to have spiritual accompaniment, anointing of the sick and confession.”

If death comes to us unexpectedly and there is no priest, it is very important to remember this formula: “My God, forgive me.”

“Looking towards the earth makes us discouraged, on the other hand, looking towards the sky gives us hope and encouragement.” Christianity is a religion in which we are invited to look upward, towards eternal and transcendent things, and not to be deceived by the temporal and the earthly.

“Our mission today is to offer the opportunity to find salvation at the last moment and by the grace of God to people who are about to die, because God’s mercy is always waiting for us.”
